As part of supporting local and regional artists, Platinum Mountain Hotel & SPA invited Maciej Wokan to cooperate.
About the artist.
A graduate of the School of Artistic Crafts in Cieplice. He has been dealing with sculpture for 20 years, combining stone, metal and wood in his work. He is active in the Karkonosze-Izera foothills and here you can admire many of his works in urban spaces as well as in his gallery at the Huty 10 estate in Szklarska Poręba.
Maciej Wokan combines artistic visions with regional education. His works included in thematic routes create their atmosphere, educate and surprise. Thanks to the sculptor, the image of the Karkonosze Mountain Spirit inscribed in the logo of the Karkonosze Ecological Education Center was created. Here, too, there are twenty carved chapels that form an ecological educational trail.
According to his idea, the “Magic Trail of the Mountain Spirit” in Szklarska Poręba was created, the elements of which are 12 by the artist.
Maciej Wokan is also the originator and executor of the “Trail of Izera Mysteries” in Świeradów Zdrój consisting of 20 stones.
The sculptor’s works can be found in Lower Silesia, but also outside Poland. He made 9 granite seats for the Dutch artist Hans Lemmen on the border of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium under the common title: “14 Landmarks Grensschap Alberkaanal”.
His latest project is the Street Gallery in Szklarska Poręba.
